Site work
Central Oregon ground is cinder, clay, and basalt shelf — sometimes all three in one lot. We bid what's actually under the surface, not what the plan set assumes.

Lots stripped and brought to grade. Topsoil stockpiled and reused instead of hauled off and rebought at retail.
Fuel reduction and thinning around structures to meet Oregon defensible space standards. Bend lots that pass inspection and insurance review.
Footings, stem walls, crawlspaces, and slab pads dug to plan and to tolerance. Over-dig backfilled and compacted, not just pushed back in.
Water, sewer, power, gas, and conduit. Trenched, bedded, and backfilled with locates called and the tape laid where the next crew will find it.
Cut, crowned, base rock placed, and compacted so it drains and holds through a Central Oregon freeze-thaw cycle.
Swales, French drains, dry wells, and positive grade away from the structure. The fix that keeps a finished basement finished.
Rock shelf broken out, oversize boulders pulled, set, or buried. The part of a Bend lot that blows up everyone else's schedule.
Excavated, shaped, and lined. Built alongside our landscape side, so the finish grade and the planting plan actually agree.
Final grade held to tolerance and ready for flatwork, sod, or hardscape. Where most site jobs get sloppy and ours doesn't.
Cut & fill
Every yard trucked off a site costs twice — once to load it and once to dump it. We bid the cut and the fill together and balance on site wherever the plan allows, so material moves across your lot instead of onto a truck.
On a typical Bend residential lot that's the difference between twenty loads out and four. It shows up on your invoice, not just ours.

The iron
Bend lots are tight, treed, and often already landscaped. Bringing a machine that's too big means turf damage and a fence panel you're paying to replace. We size the iron to the access, not to whatever's sitting on the trailer.
Low ground pressure over finished turf and soft ground. The workhorse for clearing, grading, and moving material where a wheeled machine would tear up the lot.
Tight access, gate-width work, and hard surfaces. Fast on gravel and pavement where tracks aren't worth the wear.
Trenching, footings, stumps, and boulder work. Zero and reduced tail swing so we can dig next to a structure without staging the whole yard.
Brush cutter and mulching head, grapple, hydraulic breaker, auger, grading bucket, and forks. Most of a job's efficiency is which attachment shows up.
Sequence
We look at access, slope, soil, and what the plan set says versus what's actually out there. Rock shelf and high water table get found now, not on day three.
811 called a minimum of two business days ahead, every time. Grading and access permits pulled where the county requires them.
Grade stakes set, silt fence and entrance rock in before the first bucket. Cheaper than a stop-work notice.
Rough grade established, material balanced on site where possible, export only what has to leave.
Lifts compacted to spec and shot with a laser or rover. You get grade numbers, not a thumbs up.
Finish grade held to tolerance, site cleaned, and photographed. Your foundation or flatwork crew starts on a pad that's actually ready.
Standards
Excavation is the one trade where a mistake is buried by the time anyone finds it. Undercompacted fill shows up as a cracked slab two winters later. A trench that wasn't bedded right shows up as a broken service line.
